1. What documents are required for the application?
Applicants must compile a single PDF file containing the following documents:
• A letter of intent explaining your motivation to apply, the importance of the course for your academic training, and details of your research project, including the institution where it is being conducted and the expected program completion date (master’s, PhD, or postdoctoral fellowship).
• A one-page summary of your current research project.
• A letter of recommendation written by your academic advisor or supervisor.
• An up-to-date academic transcript (mandatory for master’s and PhD students).
• A curriculum vitae highlighting key aspects of your scientific contributions, including publications, limited to a maximum of two pages.
• A summary of the work you intend to present at ESPCA (maximum 400 words).
2. Should I submit all documents in English, even if I am applying from Brazil?
Yes, all documents must be submitted in English.
3. How is funding handled for selected students with FAPESP scholarships?
Students receiving FAPESP scholarships are eligible to apply for the event. Full financial coverage for travel, accommodation, and meals will be provided for selected participants, except students currently receiving a FAPESP scholarship. These students must use their FAPESP’s technical reserve to cover these expenses.
4. Do I need to stay for the entire duration of the event?
Yes, selected participants are required to attend the event for its full duration, from July 17 to July 30 (14 days).
5. What happens if I am selected but later decide to withdraw?
If you withdraw after travel tickets have been purchased on your behalf, you will be responsible for reimbursing the cost of the tickets to the organizing committee.
6. How will I be notified if I am selected?
You will receive a notification via email.
7. Should Brazilian studying abroad apply as Brazilian or international applicants?
If you are currently enrolled in an academic program at an institution outside Brazil, you must apply as an international student.
8. Can I apply if I am not affiliated with a university or research institution?
To apply for the Precision Health School, you must be enrolled in a master’s or PhD program or have an official affiliation as a postdoctoral fellow or young researcher.
9. Do all selected students to the school have to present research results?
Yes, all selected students will have to present their research results as poster or oral presentation. The scientific committee will select the students for oral or poster presentation. Students will be informed by email.
